Meeting Minutes

IDAMHC Membership Meeting of September 8, 2009

 President Rene Gunderson called the membership meeting to order.  Secretary Arlea Alvarez read the minutes of the previous meeting.  The minutes stand as read with no additions or corrections.

 Treasurer Gwynne Shaw reported: Beginning Balance: $3551.19; Credits: None; Debits: $61.00; Ending Balance: $3490.19.  Motion to accept the Treasurer?s Report was made by Lois Cant and seconded by Arlea Alvarez.  Motion carried.

 New Business:

Motion was made by Gwynne Shaw and seconded by Kathy Martin to reimburse Rene Gunderson $94.73 for sandwiches provided to show persons at AMHR show, cost of ribbons, embroidered bag awarded to High Point Youth at Western Idaho Fair.  Motion carried.

Elections are coming up.  Please seek prior approval from the individuals you would like to nominate at the meeting on October 13, 2009.  Reminder:  Candidate(s) for President or Vice President may be entitled to an elective vote following a two-year period of active membership in the club.

 Unfinished Business:

The following motions were carried:

-       Motion by Lee Clark-Lilley was seconded by Susan Marler to have a combined Driving/Halter Clinic.  Motion by Arlea Alvarez was seconded by Tina Purdom to confirm Driving/Halter Clinic, April 10 & 11,             2010 at Al Birt arena.

-       Motion by Arlea Alvarez was seconded by Tina Purdom to give up March 30, May 15 or 16, 2010,         Spring Play/Training Day at Al Birt arena; confirm May 15, 2010 at Shawnda?s place or Earl Lilley?s     inside arena, as dictated by weather conditions.  The cost of $10.00 per horse will be discussed at a         later date.

-       Motion by Arlea Alvarez was seconded by Tina Purdom to confirm June 6, 2010, AMHR Performance                 Show at Al Birt arena.

-       Motion by Arlea Alvarez was seconded by Lisa Andrade to confirm September 18, 2010, ISHSA           Show, Al Birt arena and October 16, 2010, Halloween Hauntings at Al Birt arena.

 Motion was made by Susan Marler and seconded by Tina Purdom to confirm reservation for the Awards Banquet at El Mariachi Loco Restaurant, 9966 State St. W., Star, Idaho, 1:00 to 4:00 p.m., Sunday, December 13, 2009; buffet style dinner, including soda or tea; cost to attend is $5.00 per person; IDAMHC will fund the remainder of the actual cost @ $10.99 per person, including tax and tip.  Motion carried.

 Motion was made by Lois Cant and seconded by Susan Marler to provide Gwynne Shaw $100.00 Petty Cash for club cash box during September 19, 2009 ISHSA Show/Auction.  Motion carried.

 Committee Reports:

September show:  Lois Cant reminded everyone of their duties and responsibilities, confirmed the food vendor would be present, etc., to ensure all was in place for this great event.  Looks like we are set to go?.thank you Lois, for all your hard work and dedication.

For the Good of the Club:

Reminder:  Buckskin Show, Sept. 12^th, Al Birt; Oct. 3^rd is Last Chance Show at Al Birt.

 Lisa Andrade and Kathy Martin announced they will have a Feature Farm in the Newsletter every month.  Be sure to submit any exciting experiences, etc., you would like to share with everyone.

 Club BBQ, Saturday, August 15^th:  Arlea Alvarez, Gary Purse, Gwynne Shaw, Jim and Hazel Andrews enjoyed the lovely weather, great food and hilarious conversation.

 Madison Holly sent a thank you card to us for sponsoring the High Point Youth Award she won at the Western Idaho Fair.  She loves the embroidered bag and will enjoy using it.

 The next general membership meeting is Tuesday, October 13, 2009, 7:00 p.m., at Sunrise Caf?in Middleton.  Motion to adjourn was made by Arlea Alvarez and seconded by Susan Marler.  Motion carried.
